white coat

So, it has been two and a half weeks since Jeff started med school. Already life is quite different. For example, I went to Melinda's wedding this weekend by myself so that Jeff could stay home to study. I haven't done that in seven years. In fact, our schedules now revolve around Jeff's studying. He and his mod-mates were excited for the weekend so that they could study and sleep.

However, horray for football season! Jeff has committed to take a break from school on Saturdays (except right before test blocks). So, I am even more excited about gamedays than usual!

These pictures are from the White Coat Ceremony...isn't he so cute!?! It is weird to see him in his "physicians" attire, but I like it!

The end & the beginning

We had the most amazing summer! It started off with my graduating. One week later we were married. Since then we have continued to live out our fairytale. We have been so blessed! We have each other, and amazing family and friends. Life could not be more wonderful!

We went to Italy (our dream honeymoon) for two weeks and had the most wonderful time! I love looking back through the 2,000 pictures I took and recreating some of the wonderful things that we enjoyed in Italy (i.e. homemade pear carmel ice cream...YUM!!!).

We could not be happier! We spent the summer just being together, doing all the things that med-school and the workforce will prohibit and enjoying every minute of it! I am sure, for the rest of my life, I will look back on this summer with the greatest affection in my heart. It was easily the best summer of my life.

Now, that has come to an end. We are opening a new chapter with anticipation that it will have new hardships, new challenges, and new blessings! This has been such an exciting time for us and I can't wait to see how our future unfolds! We are not perfect, nor is our relationship, but it is close. All those imperfections have become part of our story, and that is what makes it so unique and so very special.

That is my quick synopsis and a little introduction to us. If Jeff were writing this, he would probably say, "we got married and went to Italy. It was a good summer." But he is a boy, and my version is a much more interesting read!
